The One Hour A Week Campaign

Just one a hour a week

If every American gave one hour of their time per week to civic participation, it would be the equivalent of adding 3 full time employees to every county in the country. Participation looks different to everyone, which is why we launched the 1HAW campaign, encouraging people to get off the couch, put the phone down, and get involved with their community.

So often we observe what is happening in our communities, in our country, and ask, "what can I do?'", feeling small or paralyzed by the ambiguity, opting for inaction. The One Hour A Week Campaign is simplifying civic engagement, shrinking the expectations and perceived burdens around it, while providing specific ideas for action. We are a community encouraging each other to get involved, showing each other how, and bringing governments and citizens closer together.

Steal This Book for the 21st Century

The rules have changed

Abbie Hoffman's Steal This Book was a practical guide on how to fight the system, or avoid it altogether, in the 60's and 70's USA. And while that spirit lives on, the system has changed.  Organizers, mobilizers, everyday folks are not equipped with the tools to engage, disrupt, stay anonymous in today's environment.

We are adapting Hoffman's STB to a modern context, providing practical advice on organizing in the shadows, the tips and tools to avoid the algorithms, prevent infiltration, or hijack attention.

We are an open and anonymous working group.

Civic Shield Agent

AI Agents for Digital Security

Most people want privacy online. Some professions desperately need it. But many do not know how to stay secure, and even some that do find the process to be arduous and confusing. We have built an agent to audit your security and autonomously set up your necessary protections. We've even built an emergency protocol if you need to wipe your entire device in a hurry. The surveillance state is real, and it isn't just governments, but we can take action to protect our privacy, our data.

Decentralized Analog Networks

We establish independent communities, create capacity, provide curriculum and guidance, for exercising political rights in closing civic space. We focus on the disparity in digital power between state actors and individuals. We help interested actors to defend their cause, whatever that may be.
